Essay

Today in the class we worked on the group essay that was assigned to us by Mr. Schick. We were assigned to work on government in Greece. It was a very difficult essay to compose because we had to add in all of the contributing factors within the idea of government. For example, we talked about Cleisthenes and we also talked about Isagorous and the major roles that they played in Greece's government. We also talked about how Government in Greece has changed drastically throughout its history and these changes in government have determined greece’s fate throughout history. A new form of government was born in Greece thousands of years ago, before Christ’s birth, and has influenced countries all around the world to adopt that same system. This new government was democracy, born many years after aristocracy, Greece’s leaders decided a new methodology may have been required to keep Greece stable and adopt new ideas, not only from the rich, but from average citizens. An aristocracy is a form of government where a small group of noble, rich, landowning people make all decisions for their country and/or civilization.  Greek leaders knew that the Aristocratic system was not working, and had an idea for change. A new leader would be necessary for this new government to be initiated. A election was held for the two new candidates running for Greek’s new leader, Cleisthenes and Isagoras. Eventually Isagoras won the election.  This caused an outrage to the people due to their hatred towards Isagoras.

She was a very, very wealthy woman who would invest her own money into a famous artist's paintings. These artists include people such as michaelangelo, Leonardo davinci, and many others.

Cleisthenes and Isagoras

Today in human geography class with Mr. Schick we learned about the historic events in Greece when Isagoras and Cleisthenes were at uneven terms. The two leader has many hardships and they were following up the banishment of Hippias. The two political figures had various views.  Isagoras was the horrible tyrant whom everyone disliked. Cleisthenes was the political leader who was loved by everyone and was the favorite to be picked. For no apparent reason, Cleisthenes was not picked in the end and ended up getting ostracized by Isagoras out of Athens. Later on, Isagoras was revolted against and was thrown out of office by the citizens of Greece, he was then ostracized for good when Cleisthenes was later elected into office.
