Rome

Today in western civilization class we talked about the romans and their forms of settlement and government. We learned that some of the first people to settle there were the Greeks, which is very odd knowing that the Romans conquered their own territory by that time. The Romans also followed a very non-strict government type, allowing more freedom for their citizens. The Romans were a very influential group.

Hey my fellow bloggers! This is ya boy Ryan Vanskiver and I cannot wait to tell yo¨abput ym Friday and Saturday. My weekend was just soccer, soccer, soccer! But heres the thing, I am not complaining at all. Soccer is my most favorite thing in the whole world and that will not change any time soon(or at least I hope not). The best game of the whole tournament was when we were up 1-0 at half time against the 9th team in the state of Pennsylvania and we all gathered together into a big huddle and I started a pep talk about my "dream" I had the night before in which we had won the championship. My dream was that we won the championship and our whole team had a great time in doing that so. The tournament was a successful because my "dream" ended up coming true.

My first couple of days at John Carroll

The first few days of school for me have been absolutely awesome. On my first day of school(orientation which was last Friday) I have been able to see the school in different ways that I would have never thought were possible. Like on last Friday i met with my teachers and I introduced myself to new people that I thought that I would never of talked to. But the biggest thing that shocked me was when more people were coming up to talk to me then I was with others. I would've never thought that the community of this school would be so kind and welcoming to everyone that enters through. The John carroll community is something different then any other school I have ever been to. My orientation day all of the sophomores and juniors that were helping out with the orientation were being so kind and welcoming that it was all so unreal.
