Notes

Today in human geography class withMr schick we Tok a whole lot of notes. By this I mean that we were there the whole entire class taking notes. It was a very boring class to be in if I am completely honest, but his enthusiasm and humor just always seems to be ale to lighten up the atmosphere of the room as a whole! Mr schick is one of my favorite teachers here at John carroll. He has always been very respectful of me and what I have been able to accomplish. Oh wait, actually today in class we were handed back our tests. I was very upset with my score, purely because I thought that I had aced that thing but apparently not.

TEST DAY!!!

Today in human geography class with Mr. Schick we took our last test of the quarter. I came into the class today thinking "Well, I'm going to fail this test". But that is where I was wrong. Me and my pal Shelby studied before the class during advisory. and it made things so much easier for me when the test was physically in front of me. When I received the test, I was sooooooo nervous. You have no idea what kind of thoughts were running through my head when he handed out the bubble sheets and the testing packets. All I can say is that those thoughts were not either hopeful nor upbeat.

QUESTIONS!!!

Today in human geography class with Mr. Schick we went around the classroom as he picked on us and we made up one question in which he may or may not put on the test. I was one of the firs people up and as you would expect,i couldn't come up with one on the spot. So there I go, searching up questions in association to what we are learning about in his class. I found a couple of good ones, but the main one that came across my mind was the big idea of culture and the three minor ideas associated with them. For example, social bonds is one of the three reasons. I also was waited on for. solid 2 minutes, everyone staring at me for no reason, expecting an answer from me.

Make up for missing yesterdays blog

Three questions that I think should be on the test. The first question should be "what town does the prime meridian go through?" The answer to that would be "Greenwich" The second question should be "How many time zones are there in the world?" The answer to the would be 27. The third and last question that should be on the test is "What are the top three countries in population in the world?" The answer to that would be 1. China 2. India 3. United States.

so sad

Today in human geo class with Mr. Schick, we began the class wth our ordinary morning prayer. In the class, he first meaningful thing that we talked about was abput he didn't attend school yesterday The reason behind his missing of school was because his dog was scheduled to be put down As I have already shared in class. The dog was so cute and adorable however when they had first found he had to be put down for the greater good. His first day back and within a half-hour of the sad powerpoint, the entire class was very sad and scared.

We had a sub today...

Today in class we had a sub, so we took notes by ourselves. We took notes on globalization. Globalization is a force that involves the entire world and results in making something world-wide in scope. Globalization is also a process in which business or other organizations develop international influences or start operating on an international scale. Lastly, globalization is the act of extending to other parts of the world. Globalization can be manufacturing world wide development. This has resulted in loss of individual cultural identities. When talking about globalization, it doesn't mean shrinking in size, but in person object or idea to interact with a person. A lot of the material that we have at the United States is manufactured overseas because they pay their workers cheaper. They also live a less expensive life and have more workers so they are able to pay them cheaper. So, that is what we did in human geography class today with our substitute Anthony Davidson.(Aka to most

I left my computer charger at school and it died when I was at home last night.

This is yesterdays blog. Today in Mr schicks class, we were able to talk about and discuss the topic of how acting locally can influence other factors. We went around the classroom from person to person and talked about the concept. From the characteristics of small towns like bel air Maryland to savahna, Georgia. We also talked about the chracteristics of our local are of Hartford county. We talked about the local farms and plains in which we use to our advantage, opposed to areas like Chicago that have little to no farming at all. We then connected the idea of locally living to living globally. By this we mean that what we do locally in our community can effect the world as a whole. Like pollution in a local area can effect the world as a whole over time. Local areas can all effect the worlds biggest conflict at the moment, global warming. Also, we at the end talked about being able to possibly vote at a younger age.

I GOT MY QUIZ BACK

Today in human geo class with Mr. Schick I walked in and put my phone in the apple basket in the back corner of his room. We put our phones there at the beginning of every class so then we can focus on the teacher with out any other distractions that can come from the phone. The next thing that happened was that I made my way to my seat In the from left of the classroom, ready to receive my quiz back. I sat there in my seat, talking to my friend Jacob, as Mr. Schick catches our attention. He called my name out and started to walk over to my seat with a blue piece of paper. He handed it to me and as I looked at the paps, my face sank into sadness. I hadn't done well at all, which had led me to the thought of how I need to work harder in his class.

Pop Quizzz

Today in human geo class we took a pop quiz. The quiz was very challenging and its safe to say that I absolutely failed it. the quiz was about the previous lessons that we have been taught over the last couple of days. After we completed the quiz, we worked on a project that required us to use a double sided piece of paper with a world map on it, we then used a website that held information on every country in the world. With the website we were required to label the countries on the map. The work we have been doing in class lately has been pretty fun to do. My friend Evelyn's computer was acting out, so she worked with me in class today which was pretty cool I guess.

Football game!

Today during human geo class we mostly discussed how the time around the world works. We started off with our normal prayer as always to make sure that god watches over us as we proceed with our class. We mostly discussed how the time zones around the world are different in 24 different areas. Besides this we talked a lot about our circadian cycle. Our circadian cycle is our biological clock. Our sleeping schedules all rely and/or depend on our circadian cycle that we have. We also discussed why the sun rises at 7 am, but a day starts at 12 am. we were all very stumped when attempting to answer his question. The questions he asked us made us seem so confused and puzzled, that is because we were all confused and stumped. We weren't even able to answer his question concerning why we have daylight savings day. We have it so then the kids at the bus stops waiting outside aren't in the pitch-black outdoors at 6:30 am, instead they stand outside waiting for the bus in the early day a

Regions

Today in human geo class with Mr. Schick we discussed and took notes regarding the topic of regions. Then we ended up splitting our class into small groups of three in which we would work together to finish an assignment given to us by Mr. Schick. The first thing that he said when we walked into the classroom was "be ready to take notes today!" in my mind at that exact moment I was thinking to myself, "well, crap". So we then took notes on the definition of region and the types of regions that their are in the world. We learned about a wide variety of regions today. After we took notes for a half hour, we spent the other half of the class making a word document that explained how the voting results from previous years refer to the overall decision through the region in which the voters are from.
